Buckingham Palace's Historic Balcony 35

Down the years, Buckingham Palace's royal balcony has taken centre stage during coronations, weddings, royal anniversaries, the trooping of the colour and even declarations of war and visits from foreign dignitaries. Chances are that this is the most famous and frequently televised viewing platform on the planet and it comes as no surprise that it has played its part in global history's most significant events. Join us on a journey through time, adding your own images as we capture the majesty and pomp of royal ceremony in a nutshell and build the ultimate collection of snapshots of the palace balcony's most iconic moments. Famous the world over and located in the City of Westminster, Buckingham Palace is the London residence of the UK's reigning monarch. The palace is often at the focal point of state occasions and royal hospitality as well as a focus for the British people at times of national rejoicing. The last major structural additions were made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including the East front, which contains the well-known balcony on which the royal family traditionally congregates to greet crowds. The balcony's tale is one of not just epic, but royal proportions and so come with us as we chart its story from conception and design to regal reality.
