Woodstock: The Most Famous Music Festival of All Time 153

On a rain-interrupted weekend in August 1969, the quiet and tiny town of Bethel in New York State's Sullivan County became the site of the most iconic musical event the world has ever seen. Between August 15th and 18th, 400,000 festival goers and 32 musical acts descended on a dairy farm owned by local farmer Max Yasgur for what was billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music". History, and just about every popular music fan from the second half of 1969 onward, would come to know it simply as 'Woodstock'. Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, The Who and Crosby, Stills & Nash were among the music legends showcased at Woodstock 69, with Rolling Stone magazine listing it as one of their "50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll". Despite its blockbuster list of musical icons and its gargantuan fan turnout, Woodstock's legacy is more than just a festival and the event is also widely considered to be the pinnacle of expression for late sixties' counterculture. Join us and add your own iconic images as we immerse ourselves in peace and music and explore the most famous popular music festival in history.
